The Rockport Chamber Music Festival kicks off with an Opening Night Gala with Joshua Bell and continues with such world-renowned artists as the Canadian Brass, pianist Garrick Ohlsson, the Brentano Quartet, the Jupiter and Jasper Quartets performing the Mendelssohn Octet, the Handel & Haydn Society performing Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, and much more. The Festival also features 2 world premieres–both inspired by the beautiful Cape Ann landscape–one by Charles Shadle entitled Dogtown Common performed on June 3 with Artistic Director David Deveau.  The other is by Festival co-founder David Alpher entitled Between Twilights–Seven Poems by Marsden Hartley.  Visit our CLASSICAL LISTING for a full schedule.

This summer brings an incredible line-up of artists from Rickie Lee Jones and Martin Sexton to The Subdudes and the Brothers Four.  The Rockport Jazz Festival in August features John Pizzarelli, Cecile McLorin Salvant, Fred Hersch and much more!  Visit our JAZZ, FOLK, POP & WORLD CONCERT LISTING for all the incredible concerts coming this year.

This summer, don’t miss the Metropolitan Opera’s summer encores of Carmen, Nabucco and more. The National Theatre also presents a summer series with such productions as Peter Pan, Angels in America (2 parts), and Obsession with Jude Law.
