One of Boston’s finest and most versatile ensembles, the Chameleon Arts Ensemble receives widespread critical acclaim for its innovative concert programming and artistic philosophy. This programming stance and the distinctive thematic concepts that tie the programs together have earned Chameleon a unique place among Boston’s chamber music ensembles and attracted audiences who love not just contemporary music or the standard chamber music repertoire, but who come to hear a diverse and balanced program of music in a satisfying and enriching evening.

Awarded two different Adventurous Programming Awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and Chamber Music America, the Chameleon has also been honored with a Koussevitzky Foundation award and an appointment as ensemble-in-residence for Northeastern University’s summer Fusion Arts Exchange. The ensemble’s concert recordings are regularly broadcast on WGBH Radio and frequently heard on Drive Time Live.

“The crowd rose to their feet within seconds….Smiles from on stage and in the audience testified to an exquisite afternoon.” The Boston Musical Intelligencer

Artistic Director Deborah Boldin has earned unanimous and unqualified praise for her inventive and inspired programs. She brings a vast knowledge of the chamber music repertoire, a passion and dedication to contemporary music, and a unique sensibility for the unusual combinations of musical selections that make up Chameleon’s unparalleled programs. The Boston Globe praised her for “knowing what goes with what on a program…the Chameleon Arts Ensemble didn’t make a single wrong move” and hailed “planning a good chamber music program is an art unto itself, and few in town have mastered it as persuasively as the Chameleon Arts Ensemble.”
