Jonah Ellsworth, cello
Jonah Ellsworth has been hailed as one of the greatest cellists of his generation.  He has won critical acclaim for his solo performances with the Boston Symphony, Boston Philharmonic, the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, and New Bedford Symphony, among others. Ellsworth has been referred to as “a kind of unrepentant Tannhӓuser” by the Boston Globe. He has been a participant of the Marlboro Music Festival for two years, and will return there again this summer. He is a member of the cello section of the Boston Philharmonic and officially joined the acclaimed Boston Trio in 2015.

Ellsworth was a finalist of the 2011 Stulberg International String Competition in Michigan and received a prize from the Harvard Musical Association in 2012.  Ellsworth has studied with Lawrence Lesser at New England Conservatory and Peter Wiley at Curtis Institute of Music.  Other teachers include Andrew Mark and Natasha Brofsky.  He also attended Meadowmount Music School where he studied with Hans Jansen, Greenwood Music Camp, and Orford Arts Center in Canada.
