Beloved by progressive rock fans the world over for his work with Dream Theater, fleet-fingered keyboardist Jordan Rudess makes his Rockport debut with a solo piano concert featuring instrumental interpretations of classic hits from the 60’s and 70’s (Elton John, David Bowie, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, etc.), as well as a handful of re-imagined Dream Theater favorites.

Voted "Best Keyboardist of All Time" by Music Radar magazine

For the last 25 years Jordan Rudess has been one of the most heralded progressive rock keyboardists in the world, gaining a reputation for his dazzling technique and innovative use of technology in his performances. A child piano prodigy, Rudess studied at the acclaimed Juilliard School of Music from age 9 to 17, initially becoming well-versed in classical music before falling in love with progressive rock in his teens. After releasing his solo debut Listen and subsequently being voted Best New Artist in Keyboard Magazine in 1994, Rudess was courted by two popular progressive rock bands, Dream Theater and The Dixie Dregs. Rudess initially joined The Dixie Dregs, but his time with them was short as he then was invited to join the Dream Theater side project Liquid Tension Experiment. In 1999 he officially joined Dream Theater.

With Dream Theater, Rudess has recorded sixteen albums (both studio and live), several of which have been certified platinum. Throughout his time with Dream Theater, Rudess has also recorded and performed solo extensively, including his most recent effort, The Unforgotten Path.  Rudess’ powerful and emotionally resonant style, which marries progressive rock with heavy classical influences, has gained him a devoted cult audience. In a 2011 Music Radar poll, Rudess was voted best Keyboardist of All Time. Don’t miss a chance to see one of the world’s most acclaimed rock keyboardists in an intimate acoustic setting!
