Over the last three decades, Michael Feinstein has brought the music of the Great American songbook to the world.  A five-time Grammy nominee, Feinstein has also received tremendous TV success with his Emmy nominated special Michael Feinstein-The Sinatra Legacy, the PBS series Michael Feinstein’s American Songbook, as well as hosting an acclaimed NPR series. Hailed as “the Ambassador of the Great American Songbook,” Feinstein is one of the most important musical forces of our time.

Feinstein earned his fifth Grammy Award nomination for The Sinatra Project, celebrating the music of “Ol’ Blue Eyes.” Other recent releases include The Power Of Two – collaborating with Glee and 30 Rock star Cheyenne Jackson – and Cheek To Cheek, recorded with Broadway legend Barbara Cook.

"The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook"

His tremendous TV success has included his Emmy-nominated special Michael Feinstein–The Sinatra Legacy, the PBS series Michael Feinstein’s American Songbook, which received the ASCAP Deems-Taylor Television Broadcast Award; the PBS special New Year’s Eve at The Rainbow Room; as well as a nationally syndicated public radio program Song Travels.
Feinstein is Principal Pops Conductor for the Pasadena Symphony, and also serves as artistic director of several major organizations, including the Palladium Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana; Carnegie Hall’s Standard Time with Michael Feinstein; and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Jazz and Popular Song Series. He has also started several clubs featuring the greatest singers in both New York and San Francisco.  In 2007, he founded the Great American Songbook Foundation, dedicated to celebrating the art form and preserving it through educational programs.  He also serves on the Library of Congress’ National Recording Preservation Board.

Having worked for Gershwin for six years, Feinstein credits his influence to inspire him as a performer, composer and arranger of original music. He also has become an unparalleled interpreter of music legends such as Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Johnny Mercer, Duke Ellington and Harry Warren. Through his live performances, recordings, film and television appearances, and his songwriting, Feinstein is an all-star force in American music.
