As founder and leader of the beloved Cape Ann Big Band, Carlos Menezes Jr knows a thing or two about jazz and swing. Playing tenor sax, Carlos strives to bring the big tenor sounds of his main influences, Illinois Jacquet, Lester Young, and Sonny Rollins to the stage.  He started up the Cape Ann Big Band back in December 2010, teaming up with friends and fellow musicians Shawn Lowe, Paula Burns, Vinny Rodolosi, Mike Lentini, and Rick Geraghty to form what eventually became a 17-piece big band. Sharing his passion for music, Carlos is also the band and choral director for Gloucester Middle and Elementary Schools and is currently finishing his Masters in Music Education at Boston University.

For this night, Menezes Jr. brings a stripped down version of his large band, showcasing his CABB4 small combo.
