I’m writing to you as the weather is making its noticeable shift towards the pending winter months—mellow late autumn breezes now compete with brisk, chilly slaps on our nose and cheeks. Normally, this seasonal change also brings the excitement and anticipation of the holidays—sharing time with family while enjoying good food and heartwarming music. Even though this year may be quite different than in the past, here at Rockport Music we intend to keep the spirit of the season alive with music. Our Concert View virtual music series is sure to warm you up on those wintry nights ahead.

While we have been unable to host concerts for you in person this year, we look forward to a celebratory opening when we will once again safely gather to enjoy live performances of great musical artists. We have utilized this current hiatus to upgrade our HVAC system and we are pleased to announce that the Shalin Liu Performance Center currently exceeds the CDC’s recommended MERV-13 filter ratings. When you return, we will be stringently observing all mandated and recommended procedures for your safety and protection.

Our Board of Trustees and staff continue to plan for our future financial and artistic health as we prepare for our reopening, whenever it may occur. If you have not already done so, I hope you will join us in this effort by supporting Rockport Music with a gift at any level this year.

I also invite you to take a moment to review our first ever Annual Report where you will find many details regarding Rockport Music’s past year, now all in one publication.

With so much uncertainty in all our lives, your steadfast commitment to music continues to inspire all of us and we look forward to seeing you in person once again.

Happy Holidays to you this season!
