Manhattan Short Film Festival

The Manhattan Short Film Festival is a unique experience, extending beyond its headquarters in New York City by inviting participating venues worldwide to screen entries and allow audience voting to determine the winner. The festival takes place in 400 venues across 6 continents and includes screening venues in all 50 states of the United States, the first film festival ever to do so.

The MANHATTAN SHORT Ten Finalists are:
Small Talk (USA), Mary is Missing (Ireland), Candy Bar (Australia), Vultures (South Africa), Life Goes On (United Kingdom), Hai Davai (Moldova), Pickup (Russia), Norheismsund (Cuba), When the Sea was Calm (Georgia), Never Give Up (Mexico).

Tickets: $10 adults, $7 seniors/students

All Final Ten short films become Oscar-qualified, meaning they will be automatically eligible for an Academy Award nomination by screening for a week at the Parkview Theatre in the Bay Area of California from Sept 18 to Sept 24. Two years ago, from the ten selected finalists, five shorts were short-listed and three nominated for an Oscar, which included the overall winner for best live action “I’m Not a Robot“. Hopefully we can improve on those figures this year.
