Marketing Communications & Insights Manager
(Full-time, 40 hrs/week, Exempt)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Rockport Music seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, and a passion for the performing arts to join its marketing team. This role is responsible for managing communications and analytics to promote concerts and events at the acclaimed Shalin Liu Performance Center.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communications
- Maintain and update Rockport Music’s website, ensuring content accuracy and timely updates for concerts and events in WordPress and Tessitura. Manage the full website to represent the organization’s brand, information is current and compelling.
- Develop and implement email communication strategies, managing targeted lists through Tessitura and executing niche marketing campaigns.
- Oversee in-house graphic design for digital and print materials, ensuring brand consistency across flyers, posters, marquees, and email marketing.
- Manage the production of marketing collateral, including annual reports, season brochures, rack cards, newsletters, and the Rockport Chamber Music Festival program book. Responsibilities include proofreading, editing, and writing artist descriptions and editorial content.
- Collaborate with internal departments to develop marketing materials and communication plans for Education, Development, Rentals, and Volunteer programs.
- Attend concerts/events during evenings and weekends as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
List Management & Reporting
- Execute and optimize email marketing campaigns, including segmentation, A/B testing, and performance tracking, providing analytical insights to inform strategy.
- Utilize the CRM database (Tessitura) for targeted email lists, data analysis, and audience segmentation.
- Generate demographic reports using Tessitura and TRG Arts Data Center to refine marketing strategies.
- Develop and implement automated email workflows for audience engagement, including surveys and outreach initiatives.
- Coordinate, manage, and implement digital advertising campaigns within budget, ensuring timely, brand-appropriate content.
- Oversee third-party marketing firms to ensure accurate tracking of marketing efforts via Google Analytics, providing monthly performance reports to the Director of Marketing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Arts Management, or a related field; experience in an arts organization is a plus.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and deliver compelling, on-brand materials.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of marketing and communications strategy, with a keen eye for graphic design and brand consistency.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven marketing strategies.
- Experience with digital marketing tools and CRM platforms (Tessitura preferred), as well as website management and SEO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email marketing platforms (Wordfly or Constant Contact), and design tools (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite); basic HTML knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with proactive follow-through.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube) is beneficial.
