Full-time Positions

Job Title: Education Coordinator

Position is full-time, 40 hrs./week, Non-exempt
Working alongside the Director of Education and Partnerships, the Education Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of Rockport Music’s education and community programs, including administrative duties for our instructional programs, serving as an important liaison with local schools and visiting artists, and helping to collect and organize data to support and measure program efficiency and effectiveness.

This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging leader to contribute to a growing and expanding department in a dynamic arts organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Assistance

  • Attend and serve as onsite liaison for in-school residencies with visiting artists
  • Coordinate details for on-site Field Trips
  • Assist with administrative duties for the Cape Ann Youth Chorus and Cape Ann Jazz Workshop, including communications with students and families
  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with local schools and partner organizations
  • Research, along with the Director, appropriate artists and programming

Operations Support

  • Collect comprehensive event documentation
  • Ensure expense tracking and database entries are current and up to date
  • Track and provide data points for grant writing initiatives
  • Book accommodations for visiting artists as needed
  • Assist in advancing performances and events at the Shalin Liu Performance Center
  • Additional administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a degree in music, music education or other performing arts area; experience in an arts organization is a plus.
  • Demonstrated passion for Rockport Music’s mission and of promoting accessible and equitable arts education, and the ideal candidate will be committed to or have a background in education, music, or the performing arts
  • Thorough, accurate, organized and detail-oriented approach to work
  • Ability to balance long and short-term projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ease of forging new relationships
  • Flexibility, creative trouble shooting, and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Previous experience in artist relations and forming partnerships is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products and the willingness to learn new information systems is required

This position requires some night and weekend hours for scheduled events.

BENEFITS: Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and includes a benefit package of health insurance (50% covered by organization), 401k and paid leave.  The work environment is hybrid with opportunity to work remotely 1 day/week.
