ANNA STUBE, violin
Nineteen-year-old Latvian violinist Anna Štube has captivated audiences with her remarkable depth of expression and a musical voice devoted to communicating compassion and humanity. Recognized as a featured artist on CBC Music’s 2022 “30 Under 30” roster, she made her orchestral debut at age thirteen with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, marking the beginning of a rapidly emerging international career.
Anna’s honors include First Prize at the 2019 Orchestre symphonique de Montréal Manulife Competition, where she became the youngest winner in the competition’s history; the 2024 Corcoran Concerto and Chamber Music Competitions at the Glenn Gould School; and the Grand Prize at the Canadian Music Competition. During the 2024–25 season, she returned to the Calgary Philharmonic as a MacLachlan Ridge Emerging Artist. Recent highlights include her Koerner Hall debut performing Britten’s Violin Concerto with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra under Earl Lee, as well as appearances with the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra, Calgary Civic Symphony, and Kensington Sinfonia.
A passionate chamber musician, Anna has collaborated with ensembles including the Kronos Quartet, LGT Young Soloists, and the Grammy-nominated ARC Ensemble, and worked with artists such as Midori, Christian Tetzlaff, James Ehnes, and Noah Bendix-Balgley. Her festival appearances include the Banff International String Quartet Festival, Rockport Chamber Music Festival, and Toronto Summer Music.
Anna is the recipient of the 2024 Sylva Gelber Music Foundation Award and is pursuing a Bachelor of Music at the Glenn Gould School, studying with Jonathan Crow. She performs on a 1667 Andrea Guarneri violin generously loaned by CANIMEX Inc.

JEANIE CHUNG, piano
Pianist Jeanie Chung is an accomplished soloist, chamber musician, and educator, widely respected for her refined artistry, musical insight, and collaborative versatility. She has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall and appears regularly throughout the United States and abroad in partnership with leading instrumentalists and vocalists.
Equally committed to teaching, Chung serves on the piano faculty of the Manhattan School of Music, where she is Chair of Keyboard Studies. In this role, she shapes the school’s piano program, mentors students at all levels, and fosters an environment emphasizing technical excellence, intellectual curiosity, and artistic individuality. She is a frequent guest artist and pedagogue, giving master classes and workshops internationally.
As a performer, Chung is admired for her expressive depth, clarity of texture, and stylistic sensitivity across a wide-ranging repertoire. Through her dual career as performer and educator, she continues to inspire audiences and students alike through her artistry, leadership, and dedication to musical excellence.
